Hamas Leader Urges: 'Repeat The Gaza Experience In The West Bank And Jerusalem'

Mahmoud Al-Zahhar is one of the co-founders of Hamas who now has the very important role of securing money from Iran and getting it to the group's terrorist fighters. Appearing on Al-Aqsa TV, the official Hamas TV station on August 26th Al-Zahhar delivered a message to the Palestinians living on the West Bank, "Dear brothers, we call upon you to repeat the Gaza experience in the West Bank and Jerusalem"

Al-Zahhar words have power in the Palestinian Territories; in fact now that the Gaza war is over, some expect an Al-Zahhar attempt to displace Khaled Meshaal from his leadership role as the Head of Hamas' political bureau' chief. In this televised address he explains that while Hamas is rebuilding Gaza, other Palestinians should escalate the violence.

Read what it says in the newspapers about the (Israeli) soldiers who were told that they were to enter Shuja'iyya. They vomited and wet their pants. Dear brothers, the true owners of the land have vanquished the foreign settlers. While the people of Gaza were emerging from the rubble, and sitting on (what was left) of their homes, more than half of occupied Palestine was evacuated. The (Israelis) were saying: We will not return before the Al-Qassam Brigades says so. Today, we have told them to return, because we know we are entering a phase of rebuilding the homes, rearming, and developing our capabilities, until we can liberate all of Palestine..."

(...)Dear brothers, what happened has serious implications not only for the Israeli entity, but also for the West Bank, the everlasting wellspring of the resistance. Dear brothers, we call upon you to repeat the Gaza experience in the West Bank and Jerusalem and then you can start counting the days until the liberation of all of Palestine..."

(...)We don't need to get permission from anybody. We will build our seaport and if anyone attacks our seaport, we will attack its seaport."

(...) We will build our airport, according to the unanimous Palestinian decision, and if anyone attacks our airport, we will attack their airports once again. Our pledge to our heroic prisoners, who are the best of our sons after the martyrs, is that we remain true to our vow to liberate you by all possible means. We will complete our path, and fulfill our pledge for reconstruction, for acquiring weapons, for bringing about unity, and for accomplishing the enterprise of the resistance in the West Bank, in Jerusalem, and everywhere abroad. Every Palestinian should reach an agreement with his country of residence on how to form brigades abroad for the Palestinian liberation army, without jeopardizing security in the country where he lives."

NY Times: Benghazi Special Committee A GOP Plot To Damage Hillary's 2016 Prospects

An article in Friday's New York Times discussed Democratic Party fear that the House Select Committee on Benghazi will end up being nothing more than a Republican attack on Hillary Clinton's 2016 run for president. The article is rich in quotes from Democrats explaining that there is nothing more to learn about the 9/11/12 attack on the U.S. compound in Benghazi, but the piece offers no response from Republicans nor does it attempt to state the many questions remaining about the terrorist attack which killed four Americans:

But concern is rising, both among Democrats and among those who note that most select committees tend to conclude far more quickly. For instance, the select bipartisan committee to investigate the response to Hurricane Katrina in 2005 took a year from its formation to complete a 361-page report. The bipartisan commission that examined the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, took a year and a half.

(...) After the midterm elections two months away, Republican attention is likely to shift sharply to Mrs. Clinton, the secretary of state at the time of the deadly assault and a possible Democratic presidential contender for 2016.

“If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it probably is a duck,” said Phil Singer, a former Clinton campaign aide. “It’s hard to look at the timing and think it’s simply a coincidence that it would wrap up in the heart of the presidential campaign.”

Mr. [Rep. Elijah] Cummings said the chairman had repeatedly assured him politics would play no part in the investigation. But, he noted, the House Intelligence Committee completed its own investigation of the attacks this month, the seventh inquiry into the matter.

“The question now is what is left to investigate, and I do not think we need until 2016 to answer it,” he said.

According to Committee Chairman Gowdy, the investigation should be finished before the beginning of 2016, depending on "cooperation from agencies, witnesses and the administration.” But an end date cannot be set, he asserted, saying, "I say ‘should’ because we cannot predict what witnesses will say, what documents may be produced, and whether either will lead to additional lines of appropriate inquiry.”

To Democrats, such deliberation is suspicious in light of what is already known. Representative C. A. Dutch Ruppersberger of Maryland, the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, said a declassified version of his panel’s Benghazi report could be released in September. He said the committee found no intelligence failure ahead of the attack. Intelligence agents did warn of increased threats but “had no specific tactical threat” before the Sept. 11, 2012, attack, he said. And there was no “stand down” order issued to military officers to hold off a rescue.

There was no illegal activity, no illegal arms sales occurring, and no evidence the intelligence community assessments were politicized in any way,” he said. “If there are any more facts to be found, I’m all for it, but how much further can you go?

I am not sure what the committee can productively do that hasn’t been done already,” said Representative Adam B. Schiff, Democrat of California, a member of the select committee and the House Intelligence Committee. But, he added, “These committees tend to take on a life of their own"

There are plenty of open questions about Benghazi; Gowdy asked many of them back in May. If the Times had an interest in being non-partisan they could have transcribed Gowdy's comments in the video below and taken note of the one aspect of the affair that has changed in the months since May: one of the terrorists responsible for the attack has been arrested.

Michael Brown was buried on Monday. Some criticize the family for asking Al Sharpton to speak at Michael Brown's funeral. That's wrong, the Brown family is enduring a pain that no parent should endure and should not be criticized for any choice they make to ease their pain.

It is however justified to criticize the media for building up this hater, for averting their eyes and refusing to show Sharpton for the hypocritical bigot he has been his entire career.

Al Sharpton began Michael Brown's eulogy by quoting the biblical prophet Micah. But when thinking about Sharpton's career I can only think of a passage the portion of the Torah we read this week, Shoftim which has a famous phrase, "Justice, justice shall you pursue…

“You shall not judge unfairly: you shall show no partiality; you shall not take bribes, for bribes blind the eyes of the discerning and upset the plea of the just. Justice, justice shall you pursue, that you may thrive and occupy the land that the Lord your God is giving you.“

Watching last week’s funeral opened a festering wound from the past, a funeral in 1991 where Al Sharpton also gave a powerful eulogy, except that one was powered by hatred.

“The world will tell us he was killed by accident. Yes, it was a social accident. ... It's an accident to allow an apartheid ambulance service in the middle of Crown Heights. ... Talk about how Oppenheimer in South Africa sends diamonds straight to Tel Aviv and deals with the diamond merchants right here in Crown Heights. Scott Walker Warns of 'National Trend' To 'Dig Things Out' On GOP Governors

Interviewed on Thursday's Hugh Hewitt Radio Show, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker put into words something that many of his Republican colleagues have been thinking, that there is a national trend of wild attempts to dig up dirt on Republican governors.

Hewitt: Governor, I want to finish by asking you about one of the lowest tricks in American political history, and we only have three minutes, and it was this star chamber attempt to prosecute you, and the media’s handling of this. Did that do you damage? Do you think the lawyers who were involved ought to be ethically disciplined? And where does it stand now?

Walker: Yeah, I think there’s no doubt about it. Well, you can see it’s part of a national trend. They went after Rick Perry. They went back, a while back, Chris Christie. You see a lot of these groups that literally go out and try and dig things out.

Obviously, this most recent one against Rick is just laughable in terms of how outrageous it is. But they’ve done the same sorts of things for us. I mean, they, in fact, the federal judge who shut this down, there have been two different judges, a state judge and a federal judge who both dismissed the allegation. You wouldn’t know that from most, not only in my state, but many of the national media outlets treat these things like news, and they get leaked out by different sources in the court system, or in these offices. But they treat them like they’re somehow new news, and ignore the fact that you’ve had two judges, a state judge and a federal judge, shut them down.

And the federal judge in particular said something I thought was very poignant. He said, he chastised some of these prosecutors saying that they were trying to win in the court of public opinion what they failed to win in the court of law. That should send a chill down the back of anyone, I don’t care whether you’re conservative or liberal or anywhere in between. If people can take information, take it to the court system, have an independent judiciary say this is not valid, this needs to be dismissed, the facts aren’t on your side, and then have people still leave bits and pieces of it based upon their own agenda.

That’s a society that I think should be very concerning to folks. I do think it has an impact at least for a handful of the independent voters, and it’s one more example of what they’re trying to throw at us, which is precisely why we need so much grassroots support.

Not mentioned by the Wisconsin Governor is that it is not all GOP governors subject to these attacks, only the governors rumored to have 2016 presidential aspirations.

The Mufti of Saudi Arabia shows up and tells the world and ISIS and Al-Qaeda are the sworn enemies of Islam and that it is permissible to kill them. Then their American master, Obama, shows up and tells the world that ISIS is a dangerous and criminal gang, and that the world must fight and kill it wherever it may be. Then Cameron admits that there are French [sic] terrorists fighting in Syria. America admits this too. Belgium admits this too.

Rahma also contended that Syria and its president Bashar Al-Assad will defeat the West and take over the world.

Oh, sheep of the West, you have seen nothing yet from Syria. We are a nation that bows to none but Allah, because truth is on our side. The day is near when we will celebrate the great victory, crowned by the whole world. Bashar Al-Assad will become the leader of the entire world.

The same sheik at the same mosque gave another sermon three weeks earlier in which he encouraged the entire Arab world to unify to fight the Jews:

The war that the Jews would like to impose on us is a religious war. If they succeed, it will mean the eradication of all the Arabs and Muslims. We all know that most Arab rulers do not want this war for economic, social, and political reasons. But the Jews will impose this war on us, whether we like it or not.

So what should the Arabs do? The rifts between all the Arab governments should be bridged. The Arabs should reconcile and become one big family. The fountains of jealousy and animosity between the Arabs must be dried up.

It is through these rifts that the Jewish march will infiltrate to establish the Greater Israel.

What The Hell??? Joe Scarborough Claims Obama's 'No Strategy' Statement Is Part Of Obama's Strategy

On Friday's Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough defended President Obama's comment made the day before he had no strategy for elimination the threat of ISIS in Syria. Scarborough's defense was that declaring he had no strategy was some sort or Obama subterfuge in order to convince ISIS that he didn't know what to do. If "was about to kill some terrorists in a big way, and you asked me what the plan was, you know what I’d say? "I really don't have a plan right now. I'm kind of working on it." This is straight out of “The Art of War.”

No really I am not making this up! While Joe was talking the panel seemed to be looking around to see if the late Alan Funt was going to walk on to the set and say "Smile you're on Candid Camera." After explaining that Hall of Fame NCAA Football Coach Bear Bryant always had a similar strategy, "see, the Bear would never show his hand. What are you going to do? Show your hand?" Everybody is freaking out. The President said yesterday we don't have a plan. NO, no, no, I gotta ask, which is worse? Is it worse if a president says I’ve got a plan and this is exactly what I’m going to do?

No, I’m serious. Dead serious. Or is it better to go…you know because this is what I would do. If you ever liked me as president of the United States and I was about to kill some terrorists in a big way, and you asked me what the plan was, you know what I’d say? "I really don't have a plan right now. I'm kind of working on it." This is straight out of “The Art of War.”

No, I am dead serious. I am not joking. It's straight out of “The Art of War “where when you were weak, you make your enemies think you were strong. When you were strong, you make your enemies think you were weak." No. I'm just saying. Everybody is freaking out. A couple of days ago the Republicans were freaking out and saying, “Oh you know they are releasing information at intel and showing our hand.” I'm dead serious. Maybe this guy is confused and maybe he has no idea what he is doing. I'm thinking, though.

And again, I said this last week, Barack Obama – and I said it in real-time. So for Republicans that want to kick me around, you can kick me around if you want to. I said it in real-time. When he said it was about humanitarian assistance that is cool but it's not really about humanitarian assistance. We are going to see more and more going in. The President got more active and more active. The President has a plan on ISIS. Does he know exactly where they are going to bomb in Syria? Maybe, maybe not. I suspect they probably do. Because everybody around the President is showing their hands. On Russia where he is supposed to be so weak. Samantha power delivered a blistering attack against the Russians. The President was like “eh.” The same thing, you talk about Syria. His Secretary of Defense, his Secretary of State, everybody who works for the Commander in Chief, they basically stated we are going to go into Syria. I kind of like -- I’m just saying. This is what I would do. Now maybe, maybe he has no idea.

I would say -- "well, we don't really have a strategy yet; we are still working on a strategy". If I’m about to attack another country -- no, I would say -- no. If I were about to attack another country, I’d say, you know what? We don't have a strategy. We are still working it out. You know, and then I’d go over you know [speaking into his lapel] “Scramble the jets scramble the jets, right?" They are looking at and going, Barack Obama. "Scramble the jets." Okay, I’m sorry. Chuck Todd And The Usual Liberal Nonsense

Sometimes its not the topic of question an interviewer asks that makes it biased, sometimes it's the way the question is asked.

Interviewing  RNC Chairman Reince Priebus on Thursday Chuck Todd inquired whether the Republican Party had "too many crazy white guys who have crazy theories about my reproductive system and not listening" to appeal to women, "and Hispanics same thing."

The RNC chairman was invited on to the program to discuss a "Politico" report describing two Republican-affiliated polls describing the party's worsening problems with women. Priebus came armed with a "bribe," giving the MSNBC host a mini Green Bay Packers helmet, but the gift didn't move Todd off of his usual liberal bias as he chose to reinforce the liberal meme about Republicans.

Todd: Let's start, though, with the issue of this midterm report. This is Crossroads Republican supporting super PAC. In some cases it's not news. The Republican Party has problems with women voters but it does seem more pronounced. We've looked at it from four years ago. The Republican Party is in worse shape with women now than it was in 2010. Why do you think that is?

Priebus: You know, I’m not sure. There's one poll, and we've done a number of polls too. One of the things we see consistently is that tone matters. But I think the point of that poll wasn't reported obviously by Politico. The point of the poll actually was that if you looked at it, women were rejecting the Democratic Party by 40%, they were rejecting the Republican Party by 50%. I don't think either party can do a victory lap here. But the point of the poll was, I believe, was that to the members of the House and the Senate, is that if you present your plans and you present the solutions to problems that relate to the economy, which is the number one issue and you push back on what the Democrats are selling out there in the field, you can actually win women over. I mean, that was the entire point of the poll. In spite of all this chatter, we're going to have a great year.

Todd: It's interesting when you talk about that, because I’ve heard the same argument about Hispanic voters.

Priebus: But I think it's true. You have to fight for the votes.

Todd: There's no doubt. But the problem you seem to have is when it comes to women voters, do the -- do the arguments about contraception end up blind -- basically putting the party on mute with those same women voters who may like your economic proposals but say, you know what, there's just too many crazy white guys who have crazy theories about my reproductive system and not listening -- and Hispanics same thing. Hispanics who maybe on some social issues would be with you, but the immigration talk says, you know what, I can't trust because they have a whole bunch of crazy guys that talk crazy on immigration.

Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) Has No Home In Louisiana, Claims She Lives With Mommy And Daddy

At 58 years old, married with three kids, Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) claims her primary residence is the tiny home above which is owned and lived in by her parents. That is what it says on her voter registration.  The senator and her husband do own and live in a stately, $2.5 million brick mansion in Washington DC

It is strange that the senator does not own a home in the the state she represents (and votes in) and according to the Washington Post:

On a statement of candidacy Landrieu filed with the Federal Election Commission in January, she listed her Capitol Hill home as her address. But when qualifying for the ballot in Louisiana last week, she listed the family’s raised-basement home here on South Prieur Street.

The New Orleans house, which Landrieu claims as her primary residence, is a new flash point in one of the most closely contested Senate races in the country. Republicans are considering taking legal action to question Landrieu’s residency in the state, arguing that since winning her seat in 1996 she has become a creature of Washington.

Landrieu of course claims that her family of five piles in with mommy and daddy when she isn't in Washington.

“I have lived at my home on Prieur Street most of my life and I live there now, when not fulfilling my duties in Washington or serving constituents across the state,” Landrieu said in a statement Thursday.

Verna Landrieu jointly owns the house with Nineland Partnership, a limited liability corporation set up for the family’s estate planning. Mary Landrieu, 58, and her eight siblings, who grew up in the house, have equal stakes in the partnership, campaign officials said. The home, set on a corner lot, is valued at $297,400, according to Orleans Parish tax assessment records, which do not list the number of bedrooms or other living space details.

On the blocks surrounding the house this week, blue and yellow “I’m With Mary” campaign signs were visible in many yards. But several residents said they had not seen Landrieu in the neighborhood recently.

The signs are a bit out of place because if they WERE with Mary they certainly wouldn't be in Louisiana because it seems she lives in D.C.

Muslim Sermon In Spain Begs, 'Allah, Destroy the Plundering Jews, Do Not Spare a Single One"

Much of the growing tide of Anti-Semitism in Europe originates in the local Muslim communities. In this example from Spain we see a local

During his Friday August 22nd sermon at a mosque in Azuqueca De Henares, Spain (about 25 miles from Madrid), Sheik Saleheoldine El Moussaoui used the Gaza war to spew anti-Semitic hatred.

Dear brothers, what is being done to the Muslims in Palestine, in Gaza, as well as in the other Muslim countries – we would have been surprised if it were done by anyone other than the Jews.

But that is their nature. The Jews are by nature treacherous and war-mongering. There can be no peace with the Jews. What peace are you talking about?!

Formerly Obese Al Sharpton Has A Nasty Habit of Taunting Fat People

Making fun of obese people might be all right if one is obese themselves or a stand up comedian, but most would agree that it is not the best thing for a preacher to do especially of that preacher used to tip the scales at over 300 pounds. The Smoking Gun is reporting that one of Al Sharpton's favorite targets is those of wide girth.

Ever worried about his public image, Sharpton doesn't insult the obese on his TV program or radio show, but during his weekly Saturday personal appearances.

• During a March 29 address, Sharpton recalled running into a former classmate from Brooklyn’s Samuel J. Tilden High School. But the woman, now pushing 300 pounds, was no longer the physical specimen of her youth, a fact that made Sharpton rueful. “Ain’t nothing worse than ruining your life over somebody that don’t look that good anymore.”The woman, Sharpton recalled, “was slim, trim, the finest girl in Tilden.” Now, however, “she obese,” added Sharpton. The reverend then followed with the observation that, “Every fine girl is two big Whoppers away from being obese.”

• On April 5, Sharpton told of an upcoming community fashion show being organized by his daughter Ashley, and noted that some women, due to their size, would not be able to participate.Mimicking a passed-over candidate, Sharpton said, “Why Ashley didn’t have me model?” He answered himself, “’Cause you too fat! We doing full-body size, but we ain’t doing the oversize.” He added that “jumbo” women would not make the cut.After laughter subsided, Sharpton noted, “Since I lost weight I talk about fat folk real bad. I like keeping fat folk around me so I can just talk about them.”

• On the day before Easter, Sharpton mocked women anticipating a candy score the following day. “As old as you are… you overweight, obese, got diabetes looking for some corn candy and jelly beans.” He added, “Talk about the resurrection, you gettin’ ready to have a crucifixion if you eat them jelly beans.”Later in his address, Sharpton recalled that the last time he flew coach was a 1994 trip to South Africa with other preachers. He recalled being stuck in a middle seat between “two of the fattest preachers” on the trip.

• Chiding a portly aide during remarks in late-April, Sharpton said, “I know how to make you jog. All I got to do is just put a fried chicken sandwich right here.” As he said this, Sharpton mimicked holding the sandwich on a stick as a lure. “And you’ll run as far as I got that chicken sandwich.”

• While urging followers in late-May to attend a rally against Boko Haram at the United Nations, Sharpton said, “A lot of y’all ain’t doing nothing but going to lunch. And most of y’all don’t need no lunch. Y’all need to walk over to the UN and lose some weight anyhow.”

• During June 28 remarks, Sharpton recalled once ridiculing a female diner who ate across from him at Sylvia’s, the Harlem soul food restaurant. After watching the woman devour half a fried chicken, two sides, and dessert, Sharpton recalled, “I just got mad.” When the waitress asked if she wanted anything else, the woman “had the nerve” to ask for a cup of coffee with Sweet' n Low,” said Sharpton. “So I couldn’t take it anymore and said, ‘Miss, lemme ask you something. All of that you took, what do you need Sweet'n Low? I mean, you just make yourself feel better? You might as well pour the whole bag of sugar in the cup.” As he closed his remarks, Sharpton reminded the audience to attend a panel that afternoon, saying that attendees “don’t need to eat lunch. Swallow hard and stay right here. You too fat anyhow, you don’t need no nothing.”

Sharpton claims to be an American Baptist minister, someone whom the faithful might go to help them with their problems, including their self-image problems. This man, using the title of Reverend trashes people with weight problems, saying a lot about Sharpton's regard for being a minister.

Russia INVADED Ukraine This Morning

Both the NY Times and Fox News are reporting that Russia has sent troops into Ukrain this morning. Apparently Putin's forces started firing grad missiles at Ukrainian troops beginning at around 11:00AM Ukraine time (4:00AM EDT) and an hour and half later columns of Russian tanks entered Ukraine territory

The goal apparently is to stave off a defeat of the separatists and begin a war of attrition.

They later entered Ukraine from Veselo-Voznesenka and Maximovo of the Rostov region in Russia.
Ukrainian border guards retreated because they didn't have heavy equipment.

Meanwhile, a top NATO official said Thursday that at least 1,000 Russian troops have poured into Ukraine with sophisticated equipment and have been in direct "contact" with Ukrainian soldiers, resulting in casualties.

Brig. Gen. Nico Tak told reporters at NATO headquarters that the ultimate aim of Russia was to stave off defeat for the separatists and turn eastern Ukraine into a "frozen conflict" that would destabilize the country "indefinitely.

NATO estimated that another 20,000 Russian troops were right over the Russian border.

A senior defense official told Fox that the Russians have been firing artillery at Ukrainian troops for days but U.S. officials are not ready to declare that Russia has begun invading Ukraine.

U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt posted the following statement in three Twitter messages Thursday: "Russian supplied tanks, armored vehicles, artillery and multiple rocket launchers have been insufficient to defeat Ukraine's armed forces. So now an increasing number of Russian troops are intervening directly in fighting on Ukrainian territory. Russia has also sent its newest air defense systems including the SA-22 into eastern Ukraine & is now directly involved in the fighting."

Today, due to the deteriorating situation in the southern Donetsk region in the area of Amvrosiivka and Starobeshevo as a result of the deployment of Russian army units on Ukrainian territory, I have decided to cancel my official visit to Turkey. Seven bilateral meetings of great importance to Ukraine were planned, but at this moment the place for the Ukrainian President is here in Kyiv.

Today the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council will meet to develop a plan of action in light of the worsening situation. We will be calling for a meeting of the United Nations Security Council. The world must respond to the sharp deterioration in the situation in Ukraine.

I appeal to our partners in the European Union to call an emergency meeting of European Union member states where we must urgently address the situation in Ukraine. 

Though Russia continues to deny any participation in the conflict. Incredibly  Aleksandr Zakharchenko, a rebel commander and the prime minister of the Donetsk People’s Republic, said in an interview on Russian state-run television that the Russian soldiers are just spending their vacations at war.

There are active soldiers fighting among us who preferred to spend their vacation not on the beach, but with us, among their brothers, who are fighting for their freedom.

Early this morning the Administration announced the National Security Council would be meeting today at 3:00PM EDT to discuss the latest ISIS moves.  One would suspect that Ukraine will be added to the agenda. Hopefully this time they come up with stronger sanctions than previous punishments which have been the diplomatic equivalent of cutting off Putin's cable TV for a few days.

The Truth About ISIS: Why Is This Terrorist Group Different From All Other Terrorist Groups?

ISIS is different from other terrorists in two main ways. First it is unprecedented in its level of violence. We are talking about a terrorist organization whose leaders were thrown out of al Qaeda for being too violent. That is a special kind of crazy. But just as important is the fact that ISIS is a more of a single operation, unlike al Qaeda, which had a core group surrounded by many "franchise" terrorist groups, ISIS is a single entity. And as a single entity the "Islamic State" or whatever they are calling themselves today has been able to develop a self-sustaining economy that among other things makes it the richest terrorist group ever and able to fund a lot more evil than other terrorists.

As you can see by the chart above, ISIS has taken over large swaths of both Iraq and Syria, and closing in on Jordan, Turkey, and Lebanon and everywhere it goes it raises money through extortion, oil pirating and kidnapping. This is significant because one of the ways free nations fight terrorists is cutting off the money, since ISIS has its own money that strategy would be a much more difficult task.

Today's Wall Street Journal outlines the emerging financial empire being built by the vicious terrorist group that is building a self-sustaining economy across the territory it controls in Syria and Iraq, by  pirating oil and exacting tribute from a native population of at least eight million people.

Pretty soon Qatar won't be lying when it says it doesn't help fund ISIS.

For Western and Arab nations that are striving to stop Islamic State, the group's local funding sources pose a conundrum: A clampdown on economic activity that helps fund the group, counterterrorism officials and experts said, could cause a humanitarian crisis in the already stressed areas it controls.

"Can you prevent ISIS from taking assets? Not really, because they're sitting on a lot of assets already," said a Western counterterrorism official. "So you must disrupt the network of trade. But if you disrupt trade in commodities like food, for example, then you risk starving thousands of civilians."

From Raqqa in Syria to Mosul in Iraq, Sunni radicals from the group administer an orderly extortion system of business and farm tributes, public-transport fees and protection payments from Christians and other religious minorities who choose to live under the militants rather than flee, according to residents of these areas, analysts who have studied the group and government officials tracking it.

Islamic State also does business with people from some of the same regions whose governments are trying to stamp it out. From the territory the group has taken, it controls the sale of oil, wheat and antiquities, spurring a vast gray market with buyers as unlikely as the Syrian regime and Shiite and Kurdish businessmen from Lebanon and Iraq, said Western officials and Syrians and Iraqis with knowledge of the now-common business transactions.

"They have a stable economy, more or less, across their territory in Syria and Iraq," said Hasan Abu Hanieh, a Jordanian scholar of Sunni radicalism who is an expert on al Qaeda and Islamic State.

ISIS gets a large slice of its operating income from kidnapping ransoms. While the US doesn't pay ransom Europe does and has for a long time. In fact Islamist terror from the days of Yasser Arafat through ISIS  today, was suckled on the teat of European financial appeasement as well as European and U.S. political appeasement.

In its moves in Syria last year and its blitz through Iraq this year—militants grabbed oil fields, crop lands and central-bank branches—Islamic State appeared to surprise outside observers. But Mideast experts say the group remains very much the successor of al Qaeda in Iraq, which became al Qaeda's richest branch using the same sorts of local taxation and extortion.

"At the time, no one could do any simple daily transaction or business—a truck couldn't pass down the road—without payment," Mr. Abu Hanieh said of al Qaeda in Iraq's heyday. "This local revenue strategy continues," he said. Islamic State is also structurally similar to its predecessor and is believed to have retained a financial committee with a "minister of finance" who oversees financial affairs, he said.

ISIS does its homework and that helps them strong-arm the locals into turning over their assets.

Earlier this year, as Islamic State militants swarmed northern Syria, one farming family got a knock on the door that would strip them of their livelihoods.

The militants, who introduced themselves as Islamic State members, said they were administering the town and had a list of how many acres of land and other assets the family owned, said one family member. They also said they had a list of the town's Christian families and the tribute they had to pay to be able to stay living there.

"They demanded to be paid in gold, silver or any other precious material for the annual crop we were about to plant," said the family member, who has since fled. He said farmers were forced to pay tribute based on land in their possession rather than the success of their crop—a hardship, coming in drought year.

ISIS also gets its cash from the fact it is an oil producing "state."

In Syria, the insurgents control eight oil and gas fields in the provinces of Raqqa and Deir Ezzor, according to Syrian rebels who once controlled the fields.

Again, from these fields, they trade with people from the very countries that are fighting them. They sell heavy oil at an average of $26 to $35 a barrel to local merchants, to merchants across the border in Iraq, or to upstart refineries financed by Turkish, Lebanese and Iraqi businessmen, said Syrians and Lebanese involved in the oil trade.

Light crude, which is higher priced on global markets, sells at up to $60 a barrel, these people said. Crude smuggled out, rather than sold locally, is priced higher to account for the often complicated way out. Syrian rebels estimated Islamic State-controlled fields produce between 30,000 and 70,000 barrels a day.

Trade beyond Syrian and Iraqi borders is buoyed by a network of business people. Kurdish merchants transport oil into Iraqi Kurdistan and sell it either to Turkish or Iranian traders. Those traders smuggle it into their countries and sell it at a discount over local prices, or sell it back to the Syrian government, said Syrians and Iraqis involved in the oil trade.

Turkey's foreign ministry said the amount of oil authorities have seized along the Turkey-Syria border has surged by 300% since the start of the Syrian uprising in 2011. "We are trying to see how we can stop this," a senior Turkish foreign ministry official said, "but the border is very difficult to police."

The ISIS economy has come just in time as many Muslim nations are looking at the extreme violence, beheading, crucifixions, etc., of the terrorist organization and realizing it is giving Islam a bad name.  Surprisingly these same countries said nothing (and still say nothing) about groups such as Hezbollah, Hamas, and al Qaeda.

Despite what the Obama administration says in public, ISIS which is extremist even for extremists and has its own source of cash, is an existential threat to the United States and the Western World. Many wars have been fought because people of reason have ignored the stated objective of despots.  More than a few times ISIS leadership has said it wants to put a huge hurt on the United States.

The combination of the anger against ISIS in the Muslim States as well as the fear of ISIS in Europe, leaves President Obama with an option his predecessor never had forming a truly international alliance to fight terrorism, at least ISIS terrorism. 

There is no way U.S. voters will tolerate any more American boots on the ground in Iraq and Syria (beyond the stated number of troops-about 1,000 there are probably Special Forces on the ground we are not being told about).  Americans probably would support air and Special Forces support for a ground force comprised of our allies.

Perhaps its time for our President to put together an alliance where other countries take the lead on the ground (its well past their turn) with support from the USAF and Special Forces. That would show the leadership he hasn't displayed since he arrived in the White House 6 and a half years ago.

Keep in mind though, unlike the case of our entry into Iraq eleven years ago, ISIS threatens the life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness for all Americans home and overseas. If Obama cannot put together an alliance in that other nations are the lead boots on the ground, America might have to go in ourselves. In the end the first priority of a national government is protecting its citizens and a war against ISIS would not be an optional war, they aren't lying when they say they intend to go after this country.

No Way! Mitt Romney DID NOT Leave The Door Open To Running in 2015 (And Lloyd Did Not Get Mary)

Almost every news outlet that covered Tuesday's Mitt Romney interview with Hugh Hewitt said the 2012 candidate left the door to running in 2016 slightly ajar. They got the story wrong. As a regular listener to the Hugh Hewitt show, I listened to the entire interview live. The truth is Mitt Romney said it over and over again: "I will not run in 2016."

He said it before the four minute clip that was sent to the media:

Romney: (laughing) Well, I’m not going to be running, but I can give a lot of advice to the many folks that are going to be running. And you know, there are a number of things I’d tell them

He said it after the four minute clip sent to the media:

Romney: I want the country to win. I do not want to see Hillary Clinton as our next president. So I stepped aside so someone who has a better shot will be able to step forward.

During the entire interview a determined Hewitt kept finding different ways to ask the same question, in the end Romney stood his ground, saying, "I had the chance of running. I didn’t win. Someone else has a better chance than I do."

Romney did say circumstances can change but after Hewitt's relentless questioning, Romney did  quote Dumb and Dumber by offering the host his "one in a million" chance of running: if all the other candidates got together and said, "Hey, we’ve decided we can’t do it, you must do it." In other words, he isn't running. Note: At the end of Dumb and Dumber Lloyd does not get Mary

Hewitt: Now Governor Romney, because you were the governor of the Commonwealth, you know your revolutionary history. And so I want to throw a little Thomas Paine at you from December 23rd of 1776. They call it the darkest hour of the Revolution. It’s before Trenton and the Delaware crossing, after six months of misery and defeats. And Thomas Paine writes the famous opening lines of the crisis: "These are the times that try men’s souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will in this crisis shrink from the service of their country, but he that stands it now deserves the love and thanks of man and woman." So here’s the question. If you personally believed, I mean, really, genuinely believed that you were the only candidate who could beat Hillary, and that belief was confirmed by your family and your friends and respected political advisors, would you not then feel obliged to run?

Romney: (laughing) Well, Hugh, the reason I came to the conclusion I did, which is this is not the right time for me to run, is because of my belief that someone else stands a better chance of winning than I do. Had that not been the case, had I believed I would actually be best positioned to beat Hillary Clinton, then I would be running. But I actually believe that someone new that is not defined, yet, someone who perhaps is from the next generation, will be able to catch fire, potentially, build a movement, and be able to beat Hillary Clinton. If I thought that weren’t the case, well, I would have been running. But I think we’ve got a number of very good people looking at this race. I’m expecting someone to be able to catch fire and get the job done.

Hewitt: Now I’m pressing, and I’m pressing an advantage of long acquaintance, and so forgive me for this, but that’s subject to change, right? People’s candidacies implode, circumstances change. People who organized campaigns approach you. And so I’m not asking you to, I wouldn’t presume to ask you to say "Yeah, I’m in the race." But circumstances change. And if you thought that in fact it were not that way, that you thought you were the only one who could do this, you’d change your mind, wouldn’t you?

Romney: (laughing) I’m not going there, Hugh. I know you’re going to press, but you know, this is something we gave a lot of thought to when early on I decided we’re not going to be running this time. And again, we said look, I had the chance of running. I didn’t win. Someone else has a better chance than I do. And that’s what we believe, and that’s why I’m not running. And you know, circumstances can change, but I’m just not going to let my head go there. I remember that great line from Dumb and Dumber, where the…

Hewitt: So you’re telling me I have a chance?

Romney: There you go, you remember. You’re telling me I have a chance? That’s one of a million.

Hewitt: Hey, all, the takeaway is already circumstances can change. I know how we’re going to play this. But I hope it’s not the Harold Stassen nonsense, which overlooks the far more unlikely comebacks like Reagan’s and Nixon’s, and Dewey’s and Stevenson and William Jennings Bryant. In fact, not even Stassen became a joke until his ’64 run. His previous four runs were all very serious affairs. Here’s what your running mate said yesterday on this show.

Ryan: I would welcome it. I’ve told him that, I was with him last Thursday. I think he should run. I think people are getting to know who he really is. I think there’s buyer’s remorse, and I think he’d make an outstanding president. He says emphatically, though, that he won’t do it. You know, I just wish he would. I think he’d be a unifier. But I just, I’ll take Mitt at his word, and he’s pretty clear he’s not going to do it.

Hewitt: See, he’s not as abrasive as I am. And so you have been very clear you’re not doing it now. I just keep looking for that, I get asked everywhere I go because I wrote the book about you, have you heard if there’s any door open. And I said no, I haven’t. He always says no, no, no, but I’ve always also said that I thought if you thought you were the only guy who could win, you’d do it.

Romney: Well, you know, let’s say all the guys that were running all came together and said, "Hey, we’ve decided we can’t do it, you must do it." That’s the one of the million we’re thinking about.

Hatred In NYC--Jewish Couple Attacked By Palestinian Supporters

A Jewish couple in were on the Upper East Side of Manhattan New York Monday evening when they were physically assaulted by an anti-Semitic gang, who then fled the scene in cars flying the Palestinian Authority flag, according to the New York Post. An indication that the Islamist-led Antisemitism permeating through Europe has gained a foothold in the United States.

According to the report two cars along with multiple motorcycles pulled up to the couple on East 63rd Street near Third Avenue just after 8 p.m., and the assailants began yelling “anti-Jewish statements." Police reportedly believe the couple was singled out because the husband was wearing a yarmulke.

One of the goons threw a water bottle that hit the wife, and the 27-year-old husband was punched in the side of his head when he came to her defense, according to law enforcement sources.

Police sources said the creeps then raced back to their waiting vehicles, some of which bore Palestinian flags, and took off.

The victims, who live in the area but were not identified by authorities, were not seriously injured and refused medical attention at the scene.

The couple, who live in the neighborhood, reported the incident to the NYPD who has their Hate Crimes Task Force investigating the attack. Councilman Garodnick, who represents the community in the City Council, and Councilman Greenfield stand together to shine a light on this hate-driven act and send a clear message that hate crimes are never tolerated in our city.

The hate crimes task force is investigating the assault, and police sources said that the victim may have been targeted because he was wearing a yarmulke.  According to the NYPD, the men drove in a white Cadillac Escalade with New York license plates and a white Nissan Altima with Florida plates. The NYPD also said they may have the licence plate numbers of the cars. The five to eight suspects are believed to be males in their 20s with Middle Eastern descent.

There were no arrests as of early Wednesday morning and a description of the suspects was not immediately available

At 6’4″ with a strong and sturdy build, Baldwin is the perfect type to play law enforcement and military roles.

On The Last Ship, Adam Baldwin co-stars as XO Mike Slattery, second in command to Commander Tom Chandler (Eric Dane), captain of the U.S.S. Nathan James, a Navy guided missile destroyer. For Adam who has played characters named Casey and Jayne it is a rare opportunity to play a character who does not have a girls name.
 
Kate O’Hare writes up a Baldwin interview at Breitbart:

…the Navy is apparently happy with how he wears the uniform in The Last Ship and with the show itself.

“They love it,” Baldwin tells Breitbart News. “They were thrilled, and the funny thing is, you have a dedicated fan base, and a built-in fan base, from the Navy, because our goal was to portray the Navy as realistically as we could within the scenario and within our Hollywood creation.”

“…When I can, I speak up for the Navy and the military, as much as I can. Hopefully they understand that I respect them, and I’ve raised some money for them. I wish I could do more.

Adam is a person of whom it was once said, "Man walks down the street in a hat like that, you know he's not afraid of anything"

Baldwin (no relation to Alec Baldwin or his brothers) is a conservative and, as noted, an avid supporter of the military. Adam and his wife, Ami Julius, have been married since 1988 and have three children.

Videos of Crown Heights Riot And TV Coverage--Strikingly Similar To Ferguson Missouri

In conducting research on the Faux Reverend Al Sharpton, these five videos, a compilation of the local TV news coverage of the Crown Heights riot were discovered (there were six but the last one couldn't be found)

In viewing the five films it became stunningly clear that the two incidents were striking similar.  Both started by a tragedy, both mis-managed by inept politicians, both had instigators from outside the community agitating the violence, both had Al Sharpton, both had the black community calling for arrests before the facts were revealed, both the Crown Heights and Ferguson communities complained that the media was only showing the violence, both in Ferguson and in Crown Heights some of the media protected Al Sharpton...and so much more.


Part 1: The Tragedy.  BTW notice how the local politicians immediately took sides, with out evidence. Disputing the Rabbi's account of the police directing the ambulance to take care of the driver. The Rabbis account turned out to be true.




Part 2: Day 2, Complaints the Jews got better medical attention. False reports about the ambulance go viral and stir the violence.  Two cops sent to the hospital, second night of rioting. Day 3 More violence, cops shot with BB guns, local Blacks continue to attack Jews. Mayor meets with local black groups, even goes to the local schools (just like Ferguson).




Part 3: More of the 3rd night's violence. City leaders get booed by Black community. Pictures of stores damaged an looted. Al Sharpton demands arrest of driver, without any facts.  Cops beaten up and mocked. Claims that the violent protesters come from outside of the community. The chants of the now familiar "no justice, no peace." This time the accusations were not-- too much police action, but the Jews were complaining that there was not enough police action.



Part 4: The Fourth night of the riots. Police show force. Both blacks and Jews complain that media is showing too much of the violence. It's true.  There were protests during  press conferences.  Also strange is that there was mention of Al Sharpton protests but little coverage of Al Sharpton's incitement during protests. For example the news  from this day reported the Sharpton rally marchers proceeded through Crown Heights, carrying antisemitic signs and an Israeli flag was burned. The MSM was protecting Sharpton even then.  Interestingly there was a discussion of how community pressure might effect whether or not there would be a prosecution just like Ferguson.




Part 5: Night 5 the first mostly calm night. 500 March with Al Sharpton (surrounded by 2000 cops). Still more complaints that if the driver that hit Gavin Cato was black he would have been arrested. Jews complain to reporters about outside agitators claiming to be black leaders [Sharpton] inciting the violence. Al Sharpton contends the Jews need to accept the blacks.



I am really disappointed the 6th tape does not exist because it might of had clips of Gavin Cato's funeral where, like Michael Brown's was dominated by a Eulogy by Al Sharpton.  Here there was a difference because in the Cato funeral Sharpton targeted the Jews.

People Complaining That Billy Crystal's Emmy Tribute To Robin Williams Anti-Muslim

Most people saw Billy Crystal's tribute to Robin Williams as a touching goodbye to a good friend and a very funny and talented man.  The operative word is "most." Some thought it was a racist affront to Muslims.

At issue is a clip taken from Robin Williams' 2001 appearance on "Inside the Actors Studio" considered by many as the best episode in that shows 25-year-long history.

The clip generating complaints is short snippet from that show during which Williams borrows a pink scarf from an audience member in the front row and wraps its round his head to simulate a Hijab, and says "I would like to welcome you to Iran… Help me!" He then moves the scarf down to his shoulders and begins to act like a Jewish cantor.

The Iranian part of the clip drew criticism on Twitter:

Really people? Racist? It's time for some people to get a life. A short clip where Robin Williams makes fun of living in oppressive Iran? It is called FUNNY.  The clip below is the full improvised scarf routine he makes fun of Indians, Jews, Gays, Japanese, Hispanics, and Amish as well as Iranians. Those who complain about the clip being racist are full of camel dung.  It would have been racist if Williams had left out the Iranians.

Clueless Morning Joe Crew Whines About Hypocritical Warren Buffett

The Morning Joe crew has long championed Warren Buffett as a “good billionaire” for his “Buffett Rule” and his constant drumbeat that the wealthy should pay higher taxes. Because of their long-time support they displayed shock on Tuesday when they learned the "Oracle of Omaha" was helping to finance the Burger King purchase of the Tim Horton's chain and the resulting move to Canada where corporate taxes are lower.

The panel expostulated in this way:

Brzezinski: Warren Buffet is no stranger to the debate over taxes and he is stepping into the center of the conversation once again in kind of a surprising way.

Scarborough (giggling): Burger King!

Brzezinski: "Wall Street Journal" says the billionaire investor is expected to provide 25% of the financing for Burger King to take over the Canadian chain Tim Horton's. The deal is drawing scrutiny because it will allow Burger King to move its headquarters across the border and sidestep paying U.S. taxes. Buffett has long called for wealthier Americans to pay a higher share of taxes. News of the proposed restaurant merger sent shares of both companies soaring about 20% each. What do you think, Joe?

Scarborough: I think for a guy talking about how the wealthy need to pay their taxes, he has some ‘splaining to do.

Brzezinski: Katty? (BBC’s Katty Kay)

Kay: I think if you're going to talk about paying taxes to reach the level that you think the millionaires in the country should pay, you shouldn't be seen doing something that skips your taxes by going overseas.

Brzezinski: Barnicle?

Barnicle: I think Burger King should remain in the United States. If they buy Tim Horton’s they should be paying their taxes here.

Scarborough: Duh! Yeah. And because what happens is --

Brzezinski: I feel like we are missing a part of the story.

Scarborough: What happens is that if Burger King doesn't pay their taxes, that is passed on to the rest of us. We all pay those taxes.

Brzezinski: It doesn't mesh with this message.

The panel is missing a few points, despite their claims Warren Buffett will be paying his taxes in the U.S. While the panel attacks Burger King for moving its corporate headquarters to Canada, all but 52 of its 13,808 restaurants worldwide are franchised. ​In other words, most of the BK business is in the hands of local small businessman who pay their taxes to the countries where they operate. The long-term potential is for an expanded docket of Tim Horton's franchises in the United States (presently there are 50) which will be paying taxes in the United States. Additionally, nowhere in the discussion did they mention that at 35% the U.S. tax rate is amongst the highest in the world nor did the supposed conservative Scarborough suggest that bringing the tax rate down may convince Burger King and other companies to bring their companies back to America.

Finally, they ignore Warren Buffett's history. While Scarborough, Brzezinski and their morning crew have been praising Buffett for his call for higher taxes, Buffett's holding company Berkshire Hathaway was in a years-long dispute over its federal tax billsaccording to its own annual report. A notation in their 2011 annual report suggested that Berkshire Hathaway’s own auditors believed that $1 billion is more likely than not owed to the government.

Israel/Hamas Cease Fire: The Terrorists Lost Their Will To Fight

At 12:00 p.m. EDT an open-ended cease-fire began between Israel and the terrorist group Hamas. Both sides agreed to end hostilities and Egypt has agreed to allow some goods (including some construction goods) to rebuild Gaza through the border crossing but under the supervision of PA President Mahmoud Abbas' forces.

Senior Israeli officials said that their cabinet ministers were updated by phone that Israel would accept the cease-fire. The eight-person security cabinet was briefed on the decision to accept the cease-fire, but not asked to vote on it.

The Egyptian proposal which the sides agreed to includes an unlimited cease-fire letting material in to rehabilitate Gaza under supervision. In addition, each side will raise other demands within a month which will be discussed.

While Hamas is claiming victory the truth is Hamas accepted a deal on the 50th day of operation protective edge they could have gotten on the 25th day. The real reason for the deal was the Hamas terrorists have lost their will to fight and wanted to find a way out.

The number one issue was much Hamas' on the ground leadership were killed in the last week. Among those killed were Hamas's top financial chief Mohammed al-Ghoul, and three top commanders of Hamas's "military wing," the Al-Qassam Brigades. Those strikes are said to have triggered "panic" among Hamas ranks, and sparked a bloody campaign of executions of suspected informants.

Senior Israeli security officials said the morale amongst rank an file Hamas fighters was sinking because of the high number of their fighters killed, the destruction of their key military instillation including their rocket making factories and the destruction of the tunnels which Hamas believes was their chance to launch a major blow against Israel.

The JPOST is reporting the IDF beleves the attacks in Gaza -- including damage to the homes of senior Hamas commanders -- the killing of commanders as well as damage done to the more junior military level led in many instances to a breakdown in Hamas’s chain of command, and even the abandonment of the rank and file on the battlefield.

According to these assessments, in some cases, mid-level commanders – concerned that their homes would be destroyed – preferred to flee with their families from the areas of fighting. As a result, those fighters who remained often felt abandoned and lost the will to continue to fight.

In other cases, according to the assessment, some of the Hamas fighters felt their superiors completely abandoned them. One instance was reported where 14 Hamas fighters were trapped for 20 days in a tunnel, surviving only on water and dates – with no effort by their commanders to rescue them. Some of the men starved to death.

While there was dissatisfaction toward the commanders from the rank-and-file, there was also often dissatisfaction from the commanders toward the fighters, especially in the eastern sector of Gaza where there was displeasure among the senior ranks to the resistance put up against the IDF ground incursion.

According to these assessments, the intensity of the Israeli attacks, the damage down to the commanders, the intelligence and the destruction of the tunnels surprised Hamas officials, some of whom did not believe that Israel was prepared to make a ground incursion into Gaza.

The real question is will Israel win the cease fire. That will be determined by whether Hamas will be able to rearm itself (and how quickly) and whether the construction materials designated to rebuild Gaza is diverted to rebuilding the tunnels
